Discount Flights To Africa: What To Pack

Is there anything more exciting than booking discount flights to Africa? Great fares at upto 50% discount on flights in Business Class, First Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class are available to many destinations throughout Africa.

If you’re after the holiday of a lifetime, then this particular continent is certainly one you should be looking into right about now. But what to pack for this kind of trip? To make your holiday planning a little easier, we’ve come up with a checklist of what to include in your suitcase. Have a read and make sure you don’t leave anything out!

Clothing

Think about the time of year you’re travelling in as this will inform what clothes you need to bring, but typically speaking you’ll need a hat that shades your neck as well as your face, a swimsuit, some sorts, lightweight long trousers (as these will help keep the sun off you and ward off annoying insects as well), long-sleeved shirts, lots of socks, a pair of flip flops and some walking boots that have been properly broken in. The last thing you want is blisters as you try and make your way around, after all!

Toiletries

Make sure you pack all the usual essentials like toothpaste, toothbrush, soap and shampoo, but don’t forget to include baby wipes or hand sanitiser with you as well. Pain killers are a must, as well as insect repellent, malaria tablets, bandages and plasters, sun cream and perhaps water filters as well if you’re worried that you might not have access to bottled water.

Miscellaneous

There are a few essential items you mustn’t forget if you’re to enjoy your holiday in Africa. These include a small backpack that you can put your everyday items in and carry about with ease, a mosquito net, a small torch, sunglasses, binoculars and – of course – your camera. A sewing kit might also be a good idea just in case.

Backpacks are probably the most practical option for a trip to Africa, since they’re easy to carry and easy to stash under your seat if you’re on public transport. While a suitcase will mean you can take more of your belongings, they’re cumbersome and you’re likely to find you get annoyed with it if you have to walk some way to reach your accommodation.

As ever, check with your airline to see what baggage allowances they have as this will help inform you about what to pack and what to leave at home.
