If you’re about to take the plunge and get married, first of all – a big congratulations from us here at Super Destinations! This really is a magical time and one that should be savoured… and it’s important not to let all the decisions you have to make stress you out. Which is why planning your honeymoon should be done sooner rather than later so you have something already arranged that you can really look forward to once all the planning and the excitement of the big day is done and dusted.

Of course, it can be hard to decide where to go and it can be daunting to sit down and go through all the places you want to visit. If you’re stuck, what about looking into Antigua honeymoon packages at the get-go to really set the bar high?
Antigua is one of the most beautiful islands in the whole of the Caribbean, and while it’s a wonderful destination for families and other travellers, it’s so incredibly romantic that it’s perfect for honeymooners as well. You can do as much or as little as you like here, so if you’re an adventurous pair you’ll find your tastes well catered for, while if you’d rather just laze your days away on the beach you’re also in luck as there are different beaches for you to discover on every single day of your trip!
There are lots of resorts to choose from, so make sure you pick one that speaks to you personally. The Carlisle Bay resort, for example, is on the south coast and offers incredible five-star accommodation for the discerning honeymooning couple. There’s a stunning tropical forest nearby, ocean views from your hotel suite, a gorgeous sandy beach (where lots of water sports are on offer), a spa, a swimming pool, a top gym, three bars at the hotel… the list goes on!
Or you could make your way to Hermitage Bay instead, which is delightfully remote (so perfect for loved-up couples) and just ten short minutes away from Jolly Harbour. If you really want to get away from it all and feel like you’re the only two people in the world, this would be a great choice for you.
In terms of activities, Antigua really does have it all. There are lots of spa retreats so you can enjoy a bit of well-earned pampering, or you can indulge your more active side and go surfing, sailing, snorkelling, scuba diving… whatever your heart desires! There are some amazing coral reefs round here, while Half Moon Bay is perfect for surfing. The strong trade winds mean that sailing is a breeze and if you’re in the region in November you’ll be there in time for the annual Jolly Harbour Yacht Club Regatta.
For the best view around, however, make your way to Shirley Heights, named after former governor Sir Thomas Shirley. You’ll get an incredible view of the island here – and try to head up in time for sunset. The perfect end to a perfect day!
