Discount Flights To San Francisco: What To Look Out For

Looking for your next holiday idea? Well, what about booking discount flights to San Francisco – one of the coolest cities on the planet? With Business Class fares from just £1765 and Economy Class from just £387, there great flight deals available. You’ll absolutely love your time here, no matter what you decide to get up to, but there are a few little curiosities that you might want to keep your eyes well peeled for… and your cameras at the ready to capture. Here are just a few to give you a head start!

The cable cars

Lots of cities have tram networks to help people get from A to B but the ones in San Francisco are not just practical, they’re beautiful as well! They’re a great way for newcomers to navigate their way around – but make sure that you’re on the side of the car that faces the bay so you can get the best views.

Seward Street Slides

Make your way to the Corwin Community Garden and Seward Mini-Park, and you’ll come across two lanes of downhill slides that are an awful lot of fun! Interestingly, they were the result of a residential uprising against the disappearance of their local open spaces, with development of the site fought for ten years.

The 16th Avenue Staircase

For some of the very best views of San Francisco, seek out the 16th Avenue Staircase tucked away in the Sunset district of the city. It was apparently inspired by the Selarón staircase that can be found in Rio de Janeiro, with all mosaics donated by the local community. There’s also a gorgeous garden and keep your eyes out for the Green Hairstreak butterfly.

Albion Castle

For something off the beaten track, make your way to Albion Castle, a six-storey stone tower that was built back in 1870 intended to serve as a brewery for the city’s saloons. The castle itself was built into a hillside and is home to some underground caves that would certainly be worth an explore.

The Yoda Fountain

Are you something of a Star Wars fan? Head off to the Letterman Digital Arts Center in the Presidio and you’ll find a bronze statue of Yoda, the wisest of Jedi Masters in the Star Wars universe. And while you’re in the Presidio national park, make sure you learn all about its rich history at the museum and cultural centre, the Presidio Officers’ Club.
