What To Do On Brisbane Cheap Holidays

Is there anything more entertaining than planning Brisbane cheap holidays? Of course, there’s so much to see and do in the city that it can be very hard to narrow down what you want to get up to before you go home again. There’s only so much you can fit in, after all! Here are just a few ideas to help you get started with all the planning.

Moreton Island

Just off the Brisbane shore you’ll find the third biggest sand island in the entire world. There are some incredible lagoons and crystal-clear lakes, stunning beaches and hugely impressive sand dunes. You can feed wild dolphins by hand here (which is an absolute must-do, if you ask us), or go diving and snorkelling around some old shipwrecks.

Go on a river cruise

A cruise down the Brisbane River is something that shouldn’t be left out, whether you’re on your first trip or your tenth. It’s a really fun way of getting to see the city – but review all the different cruises available as each one has different packages on offer.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Australia is renowned for its interesting animals and one of the most popular has to be the koala – which is why you should pay a visit to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. This is the first and biggest sanctuary in the world, with more than 130 koalas in situ. You can also hand-feed wild lorikeets and kangaroos, which you can’t go home without doing.

Brisbane Powerhouse

Make your way to New Farm, where you’ll find the Brisbane Powerhouse, which plays host to local and international talent, as well as holding regular art shows, farmers’ markets, festivals and a whole lot more. Just see what’s going on there over your holiday dates… you won’t be disappointed.

Aquativity

If you’re on a family holiday, then a visit to Aquativity is a must. The interactive water park in the middle of South Bank is both fun and educational, celebrating the city’s relationship with the Brisbane River. Your kids will learn all about the river’s water cycle and its preservation, as well as native fish and mammal species. And the best bit is that your children won’t even know they’re having a school lesson because they’ll be having so much fun at the same time!
